I am by no means a peanut butter cookie connoisseur. I can probably count on one hand the number of times I have actually made a peanut butter cookie. I mean, what's the point really? Aren't they only for people who haven't heard of chocolate chip cookies? (kidding, kind of) Now that you know where I am coming from, you should also know that I thought these cookies were delicious. Chocolate or not. I did have tokeep myself from making chocolate frosting to squish between two cookies. Tyler wouldn't have it. He loved these cookies, probably more than I did. I am sure he would be just fine if I made them more often. Did you know he doesn't really even like chocolate? Sometimes I wonder how we got together. Oh, that's right, it was at the Deer Hunt dance. Good times.
I don't think I made my cookies quite as big as the cookies in the book. I used my handy little scooper and I think it's about a 2 T scoop. The book called for 3 tablespoons of dough for each cookie. Mine spread out quite a bit and I think my cookies would have been huge if I had used that amount. And I really wanted to use my scoop! I took the time to do the crosshatch pattern.
I need to say thank you to Jennifer for hosting this week and picking a recipe that changed my mind. :) If you would like the recipe, you can visit her blog HERE.
